Dear Friends,
The festive season is upon us, and it’s my first as Chairman. This is traditionally a time for gratitude and giving to others, and in this sense, you epitomise the real spirit of Christmas. I am truly thankful for each and every one of you. Whether you ride, coordinate, fundraise, or support behind the scenes, you are the very heart of this charity.
This year we have seen a number of changes, but together, we’ve achieved something truly remarkable:
Our riders and drivers have travelled over 243, 910 miles delivering our services;
We completed around 6,717 jobs, carrying nearly 45,234 items;
We have saved around £407,000 for the NHS and hospices we serve…….and…..
We have helped and supported countless lives, through your commitment
These numbers tell an amazing story of 2025 – our record-breaking year, but they don’t capture the heart and spirit with which you achieved this and that you bring to South West Blood Bikes. In thinking about all that you willingly give for free, I was reminded of this quote:
“Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting.” – Thomas S. Monson
So, thank you, for opening your hearts and giving so generously of your time and energy. You are the reason this charity continues to grow and make such a difference to the NHS, Hospices and the lives of the people of Devon we serve.
Finally; I offer my thanks to those of us who will continue providing our services across the holiday period; and to everyone in our fantastic charity, may I wish you and your loved ones a joyful Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year!
With warmest wishes,
Steve
